Luke!!
Alright Luke you have to buy this house. I mean seriously, it’s an old church and a duplex for crying out loud. You can go rent it to some students or something if you aren’t ready to live off campus.

I was using:
close theWindow
Where theWindow is a variable referencing my post window.
When I should have been using:
tell theWindow to close
Both lines worked for closing a post (assuming it had been successfully posted or updated, but the first method go me an apple event timeout error.

update 10: this post seems to have become my whipping boy for testing purposes
I had a pretty good weekend here and it was capped by an excellent Sunday so I thought I’d take a minute to recap.
Friday
I spent Friday night hanging out at the new abode of Kiseung. Kiseung is my buddy Meredith’s fellow and a real nice guy. He’s been coming to hang out more with her friends lately which has been unequivocally a good thing. He’s renting a cool new pad with a bunch of folks we didn’t get to meet, but the house is nice and the party was fun and I got to see the movie “The Cat Returns” which was a cool flick.
Saturday
Saturday started with Amber and I sleeping in late, way late. This was nothing less than awesome.
Band Practice was mixed bag. Our new drummer didn’t show and I don’t as yet know why. My folks neighbors are having their house painted and the guy really wanted to come jam with me and Pete (heard us practicing wanted play). While a little odd at first the guy rocked. We came close but didn’t actually ask him if he’d be willing to play some shows with us.
Rented up and watched “Death to Smoochy”. I love this movie. It’s dark and funny and quirkily idealistic all in one go. Call it a day and a pretty good one at that.
Sunday Sunday Sunday
I’ll skip to the best parts of today. Church: I took Communion from Pastor John who suffered a stroke this summer. Although he is certainly tired, prompt medical care and a lot of grace means he is mostly as he was before and I can’t really express how happy this makes me. I haven’t always been the relatively happy and productive member of society I am today and John helped me a lot through some rough times in my youth.
This evening Amber and I had John over for some Quesadillas. We hung out and played some Super Shrek Party nonsense on the ol’ Game Cube. It was a good time and a nice finish to the weekend. Now, because Man has to work, I’m off to bed. Night all.
I went from bbpress to a more integrated bulletin board system that will hide posts from folks who aren’t logged in. The log is for all. The forum is for friends.
I had to modify some code though to get xdforum working.
line 2147 of wp-includes/funtions.php went from:
foreach ($array as $k => $v) {
to:
foreach ((array)$array as $k => $v) {
Update:
Stupid forum system was none-functional beyond its start page. Add that and only one developer on the plugin equals a scared little monkey of a Drew. I’m going to evaluate the pain of Vanilla vs. phpBB some more and find one to add in. bbPress is good, but not really what I need.
Update x2:
Vanilla rocks! Seriously. Go check it out and tell me it doesn’t rock. Meanwhile Tincture is up and running. I need sleep. Later all.
Barring an all-out statement of outrage from Amber or Pete I will using Charismatic Dog as the title and domain for this little notepad of mine going forward. It’s also the working name for my improved posting apparatus (still being half-hazardly thrown together). It makes for fun fun fun. I found out NSTextView elements come with spell-check all ready to go. So at this point the only thing I sacrifice from SubEthaEdit is syntax highlighting. Since SubEthaEdit doesn’t always pick up that these posts have a little html sprinkled in to begin with. Probably not a big loss.
