I’ve learned important things. I’ve met some really nice and smart people. I’ve gotten tipsy with co-workers. Today is day one of the conference and it feels like every penny was worth it. I’m officially calling the rest of the conference gravy.

Even at $299 for 16GB I’d have been happy to pick a new iphone up on the floor here. Still the demos were nice and I’ll be looking forward to buying one in July to use with mobile me.

I’m waiting in line to get into the Apple WWDC 2008 Keynote. I’ll try to update this post later with thoughts impressions. Prolly won’t do it live though.

The whole shiny black plastic back rumor regarding the next iphone seemed odd to me. The picks leaked in this Crunch Gear article actually look pretty nice. To be honest though, I don’t know if I’m as excited about the new iPhone demoed there as I am about the possibility of iChat for Windows. I have never seen a video chat/screen-sharing app work half as well as iChat on a Mac and being able to take that functionality cross platform would be really useful at work and nice for keeping up with friends and family who have PC’s.
And yes the title is referring to the fact that I’ll be out at the show floor WWDC. Might even blog a bit…

I always thought the main screen looked a little sparse. Hopefully this doesn’t become so dense as to be worthless Windows Mobile style…

Maybe I’m a little anti-authority at heart but things like this story over at Ars piss me off royally. Students in high school have so little control over their environment, indeed their lives. I won’t say this is a necessarily a bad thing, but I do feel the often capricious and arbitrary decisions of schools regarding “student government” are deplorable. Often, students are given the impression they elect–and have a say through— a student government, but as my own high school demonstrated multiple times, student will has nothing to do with student government. Maybe one of these days I’ll come back and fill in this fragment with my favorite two examples.
